COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Well acted submitted by pk on June 28, 2012, 9:24pm Movie is incredibly acted, especially by Gary Oldman as George Smiley. He is amazingly subtle, but you can see it all going on in his head as he quietly hunts down the mole. Facial expression, the slight turn of a head - it's fascinating to watch. The movie can be a bit hard to follow, with many characters and minimal dialogue. But it's well worth the time to watch, even if only to see Oldman act. Bet a second viewing (as with many spy/intrigue movies) makes it a lot clearer.
Understated submitted by smgop on July 7, 2013, 5:28pm It was hard to follow at times - but this is classic Le Carre.

So smart submitted by caburr47 on July 21, 2019, 9:21pm This film was so smartly constructed. Script well adapted, Gary Oldman’s best performance. The cast is amazing. One of the best soundtracks, worth watching multiple times as it is so nuanced. Highly recommended.
Fascinating submitted by yufamily on August 24, 2019, 1:21pm A suspenseful plot and great cast
Enjoyable! submitted by dtarrago on August 11, 2023, 12:05am Enjoyed having to constantly pay attention while fully enveloped in the mystery and suspense of it all. Really enjoyed but maybe not the right pick for movie night if looking for something easy to follow and/or relaxing.
