COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Terrible submitted by fdaudi on June 15, 2012, 3:27pm If you go into watching this movie thinking that you are going to see another visually appealing action movie like you saw with 300 then you may be kind of impressed but it is a long shot. The acting was terrible, the story telling was terrible and in fact rushed. It is hard to find anything right with this one. The action sequences were boring and mashed together as if a child were given the task to direct the scene and they basically told everyone to rush at each other. I was not impressed with this movie.

A Twist on the Original Story submitted by crazypockets on July 3, 2012, 10:46am It's hard to not like a movie starring Henry Cavill and Stephen Dorff playing Greek heroes. That being said, this was definitely not what I expected from the Theseus story. They took some major liberties and made the Titans sort of an odd army of normal-sized entities. Not to mention, there was a whole subplot between the gods where Zeus forbids the others from interfering in the affairs of the humans and actually threatens death to any who do. This was confusing as I thought that was pretty much the point of most of the Greek myths: gods amusing themselves with human-kind. And how can the gods die? I think a lot of this film is the filmmakers going for shock value with seeing how cruel they can make Hyperion, and they certainly made some changes to the traditional story. But some of the visuals are pretty impressive, and the fight scenes are well-done.

Decent submitted by RebeccaWittekindt on August 9, 2023, 9:18am Not super memorable, except for some visuals and seeing Cavill in a pre-Superman/Witcher role. Rourke eats up the scenery as usual.
