Intriguing and accurate submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 16, 2013, 9:05pm This portrayal of the Borgia family in the Vatican is intriguing in its depictions of the Borgias' exploits and corruption, and is remarkably accurate. Pope Alexander VI did indeed have numerous mistresses (the show only depicts two) and several acknowledged children (the show only depicts four), for example.

The series is very violent, including depictions of murder, rape, and torture. Of course, these are historically accurate as well, but very disturbing.
