COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Run, Don't Walk, from Drive submitted by James C. Clark on May 2, 2012, 9:27am I can’t believe I was on the waiting list so long for this turkey! A more apt title would have been Stare, since there was so much more of that than driving. The plot stunk, the execution stunk (although there were many executions), and the words of praise on the jacket must have been lifted from some other DVD cover. However, lovers of gratuitous violence will probably get a fair amount of pleasure from this Hollywood travesty; even I learned how to (hypothetically! hypothetically!) stomp someone’s head until it popped like a rotten melon. Come to think of it, rotten melon would be another fair description of this blot on the movie landscape.

No Hero submitted by markwells on May 19, 2012, 8:09pm Nice cars, nice driving. Having said that, this movie is just a bunch of bad guys who leave a bloody mess in their wake. I need someone to root for. D-

Excellent submitted by MegB on July 13, 2012, 3:34pm A moody crime drama with an magnetic antihero and some of the best car chases I have ever seen. I loved it!

i would not submitted by jjdijkstra81 on July 6, 2014, 6:48pm Watch it again. A few decent car chases. That's it.

GIves me a positive view of Gosling submitted by hathaway1066 on July 14, 2014, 8:16pm I haven't seen Gosling in very many movies but HAVE seen the sort of women going ga-ga over him stuff, I wasn't sure how seriously to take him. This shows that he can actually act and carry a movie. Worth watching even if you're not ga-ga for Gosling inclined.

Entertaining submitted by kwarren on June 24, 2015, 10:51am Very fun movie with a bit of an edge. It has mastered the art of the understated hero. B+

Decent Action Flick submitted by Meginator on June 20, 2017, 12:17pm Drive was pretty much exactly middle of the road for me (pun intended). Gosling delivers a solid performance and the car chases are a lot of fun, but something about the plot didn't quite have me captivated. Definitely check it out if you enjoy fast cars (and/or Ryan Gosling), but it's not essential viewing in my opinion.

OK submitted by leenajong on August 16, 2017, 7:51pm Nice cars, nice stunt but that was it.

Okay submitted by c_zhang on July 5, 2019, 12:22am The car stunts were nice, but other than that there wasn't really anything to the film.

Good thriller submitted by RebeccaWittekindt on August 1, 2023, 1:46pm An exciting movie, with a very interesting, morally-gray protagonist. Worth it for seeing Albert Brooks as a murderous crime boss!
