I love this edition submitted by ssmyth on June 26, 2013, 8:43am We know the writing is great, but this edition gives so much additional information about the timeperiod that you enjoy the book more and have a deeper appreciation. Jane Austen wrote her books for people of her time that would know what was life was like, the way people were expected to behave and 'customs'. This book is like having a guide explain to you the 'unwritten' information that you would have known had you been alive when the book was published.

lots of extras submitted by kathscot on June 22, 2023, 2:30pm You can just read the text or also read definitions of archaic words or obscure phrases, see photos of Austen's world.
Also it allowed me to get the book right away whereas there was a longish wait for all the "unannotated" copies.
