Helpful submitted by Juliesharp91 on July 14, 2021, 6:14pm Mindfulness is a great topic and a valid point. However it is not helpful if you have a single parent of two children and making $1400 a month at AADL and base rent in the county is $900 there is no amount of mindfulness that will help. This advice is also not helpful when a supervisor confronts you in a public space instead of his office to ask why you can’t work Friday evenings and you have to explain that you do not have childcare, have to meet with lawyers due to your separation, and are experiencing severe financial constraints. When you supervisor can see you are crying and visibly upset after you explain that you experienced domestic violence and still your supervisor does not offer to move to a more private space and flatly says they still need coverage for Friday’s, I don’t think mindfulness helps. It is also not helpful when you force that employee to later work additional weekend days resulting in a loss in wages due to childcare and more time spent away from her children. I didn’t practice mindfulness to deal with this stress and anxiety, I just got a better by job with an employer who treated me like a person. Hopefully for you, Colin Simpson, if you experience adverse circumstances, I hope other people come to your aide and offer sympathy. You are what AADL wants which is a person who buries conflict and adversity in favor of bureaucracy. It was also weird when you looked at my library loans and presumed from a few titles that I was autistic and then treated me different, very unprofessional and also indicated to me how you operate. I think you only advanced to supervising just by staying abreast of the gossip and misleading people into trusting you only to turn that information against them.
