Tonia is a larger-than-life drag icon of Lisbon's night life in the late 1980s. At the peak of her career, she meets and falls in love with Rosario, a young soldier who's gone AWOL. Under pressure from Rosario, Tonia begins a series of operations to become a woman, but the final step proves much harder than she could have guessed. Tonia looks for distraction in a trip to the countryside with Rosario, where they become lost and find themselves in an enchanted forest.

Lost in life submitted by pkooger on November 25, 2011, 1:19pm This film has fantastic characters. They're emotionally deep and highly entertaining. The filmography is fantastic. It catches just the right blend of mysticism, beauty, and tawdriness. This film has almost no plot at all. I didn't know what was going on half the time, or why it was happening. Sadly, great characters and beautiful filming do not make a plotless film a great film. I would recommend checking this out if you have two and a half hours to kill and you're feeling existential.
