America has fallen. A vampiric scourge sweeps the nation, turning brother on brother and parent on child as the blood-hungry beasts take deeper and deeper hold upon the land. It's hard for the survivors to know whether to be more afraid of the creatures themselves or the violent religious groups that have sprung up in response, but there is clearly only one choice, fight or die. Post Apocalypse Vampire film submitted by irenzero on August 1, 2012, 8:23am More akin to the Romero Dead films than the current crop of teeny bopper Vampire flicks, Stakeland is a gritty story of survival in an America in ruins. It's a stark, bleak film searching for humanity in a world in chaos. Long after my viewing of the film, it's images and incidents have stuck with me, and I look forward to revisiting it.
