COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Downsized Drama submitted by markwells on October 25, 2011, 8:58pm Will Farrell succeeds in his portrayal of a down-on-his-luck guy trying to put his life back together. This movie seemed to lose some momentum near the end but kept me involved enough to earn a better-than-average grade: B.

laid back submitted by manz on December 28, 2011, 12:08pm I enjoyed this film. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a delight. After watching Will Ferrell's "Elf" three times recently, it was nice to see Ferrell in a serious dramatic role, akin to his work in "Stranger Than Fiction." The man gets it done. The film is melancholy, but human. I enjoyed watching his relationship unfold with the young boy Kenny amid a disastrous front yard. Watching the film made me really want to have a garage sale! We had them all the time growing up, and this made me miss the tagging and the signs and the haggling.

just okay submitted by jjdijkstra81 on July 11, 2012, 5:43am just okay

This is not a comedy. submitted by ELIZABETH B on July 13, 2012, 9:30am This was quirky and entertaining, but NOT one of Ferrell's slapstick comedies. Great portrayal of a man facing many losses due to alcoholism and some meaningful relationships with a few people around him, including a boy in the neighborhood and a pregnant woman across the street.

no good submitted by Jackie77 on August 8, 2015, 10:21pm I did not like this movie. It was boring and seemed to drag on.
