In the wake of Abraham Lincoln's assassination, seven men and one woman are arrested and charged with conspiring to kill the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State. The lone woman charged, Mary Surratt, owns a boarding house where John Wilkes Booth, planned the simultaneous attacks.

Looking forward to seeing this submitted by mccarthy on January 5, 2012, 11:03pm I just got back from visiting Ford's Theater, where President Lincoln was murdered. In the Gift Shop they had this movie playing and I was really impressed. I look forward to watching the whole movie.

Watch the full length documentary also. Many of us only learned about the assassination of Lincoln and not the whole complex conspiracy.

excellent submitted by smgop on July 15, 2012, 8:58am A gripping film about the lesser known aftermath of the Lincoln assassination. It was chilling to think that some of the "conspirators" were hung because of lack of evidence to prove their innocence (particularly Surratt) - because it was believed that in order to heal a nation someone had to be the scapegoat.

The documentary additions to the DVD were excellent, and well worth watching.

A Different Perspective submitted by Meginator on August 7, 2017, 3:35pm This film offers a different perspective on the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and while it dragged in parts it was interesting to see historical events portrayed so convincingly by a good cast. This film is more educational than entertaining, even as it takes certain small liberties with the truth, but it tells an important story nonetheless. The DVD extras are also well worth watching, for additional context and information.
