The New Being submitted by drewy234432 on June 16, 2012, 8:11am This is the prequel to all the star treks. Very interesting and better graphics then the other star treks.

A guilt pleasure submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on July 18, 2013, 12:23pm This latest "Star Trek" series is set about 200 years before the original series. It portrays the very first starship Enterprise on the very first Star Fleet mission: to explore the galaxy and meet new species.

This series, while fun, is not nearly as good as the previous three "Star Trek" series. It is a disappointment to those with expectations set high by those other series. Nonetheless, "Enterprise" can be a guilty pleasure.

"Enterprise" also demonstrates many of today's prejudices. All the main character actors are European or Euro-American men, except for three. The only two actors of color play officers of the lowest rank. Most of the away mission include only men, even though the Vulcan on board is the science officer with military training. There are no LGBT characters, except one non-gendered alien who makes an appearance in only one episode. One would think that more than 100 years from now humans would have outgrown their bigotry.

Fans will appreciate the foreshadowing of events in the other series and the movies, such as "Next Generation." Fans will also likely appreciate that this Enterprise has no holodecks and therefore no goofy episodes in which the characters adventure through other landscapes and time periods. The series showcases actors from numerous other science fiction shows, which is a delight to sci fi geeks such as myself.
