Life of a Lippizaner Stallion submitted by MistyFabulous on June 30, 2023, 3:02pm This book for kids is written from the point of view of Maestoso Petra, a Lippizan stallion. It begins with his life in the town where the breeding stables were, then his travels to Vienna to begin training to do the fancy maneuvers that Lippizans are famous for. His story is set in World War II so it also describes the rescue of the Lippizaner horses by the American soldiers. An interesting story, but also lots of factual information that is presented in an engaging way.
Love Horse Diaries! submitted by hart on July 27, 2023, 1:37pm I love all the Horsee Diary books, especially this one! It is a great mix of fiction and historical facts about WWII. I was interested in the different steps the Lippizaners learn.
