Medieval studies scholar Tess Alexander is thrilled for the chance to live in a medieval castle. But then a trip to the village brings her face to face with the owner of the local garage, who looks a great deal like the man who married her sister ... 800 years in the past.

Wonderful!

While I generally enjoy all of Lynn Kurland's books, this one has become one of my top 5 favorites.
John has become one of my top 5 favorite men in Lynn Kurland's books (and that's saying something because there are some pretty fabulous men in her books!). He's complex, difficult, stubborn and yet underneath he's tenderhearted and sweet. He actually reminds me of one of my closest friends. Tess, on the other hand, is not my favorite character and yet I don't completely dislike her either. She just doesn't seem to have the depth and complexity that John does.
The good news is that even if you haven't read the other books in the de Piaget family series (which I highly recommend!), you won't be too confused. Lynn still provides enough detail so that newcomers aren't too lost and yet, she doesn't load down the veteran readers with too much repeated history.
Lynn Kurland's books are excellent for those who like their romance novels to come with less sex. In fact, the majority of her books don't have any in them at all. In the books that do have them, the scenes are not very detailed. It's a wonderful series for younger girls and adults alike!
So glad John could have a book! submitted by ShanleyBelle on August 23, 2021, 4:47pm Montgomery's story is one of my favorites, so I was so excited for his twin John's story. While it was more modern, which I didn't love, it was worth the wait. A must-read!
