new setting for Maisie submitted by camelsamba on June 22, 2015, 3:02pm In this installment, Maisie is asked to go undercover for the British Secret Service. They get her a job teaching English at a Cambridge college founded by a man who made his fortune writing a pacifist tale. Her intelligence agency handlers are primarily interested in the pacifists, but Maisie senses more danger in the actions of those attracted to the fascists and Nazis. When the college president/founder turns up dead, Maisie naturally starts investigating even though she is told not to. Who might have the motive to kill a man of peace, and what skeletons lurk in his closet? Not the best in the series, but worth reading.
