"A Paula Wiseman Book."
In 1919, independent-minded fifteen-year-old Rosalind lives in India with her English parents, and when they fear she has fallen in with some rebellious types who believe in Indian self-government, she is sent "home" to London, where she has never been before and where her older brother died, to stay with her two aunts.

It Truly Is Amazing submitted by bacolorm on July 18, 2011, 7:54am This is an amazing book about a girl living in India and the problems she faces. Rosalind loves India, but is sometimes disgusted at the mistreatment of people there. When a close friend tells Rosalind a baby was sold to a man who would hurt him, she goes to the dangerous place and buys the baby for herself. She begins to love the baby when her parents find out. They are so angry they make her go to the club everyday, which means hanging out with girls she doesn't like. Eventually, Rosalind is sent to England to attend school and live with her two aunts. The trip there is filled with sickness and worrying. Once in England many things are discovered including secrets between the aunts and about Rosalind's brother who passed away mysteriously in England. I loved this book because it was well written and had good plot twists. Try it for yourself!

pretty good submitted by camelsamba on July 11, 2013, 6:34pm I thought the book had a strong beginning (even if some of the actions were unrealistic). However, I was disappointed with the ending. It got wrapped up too neatly. I can understand Aunt Louise returning with Rosalind, but what's up with Aunt Ethyl's final decision? That seemed totally out of character.
