COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Harry Potter and the World of Pain submitted by unknown on July 9, 2011, 1:11am It greatly amused me to discover that the protagonist in Troll has the name Harry Potter Jr. and that his father, Harry Potter Sr., also has a role. If you enjoy really bad movies then these two qualify. Note that these two films have almost nothing to do with one another so feel free to watch them in either order. The second film calls the troll-like beings "Goblins." I don't think either film could frighten anyone except for the horror of seeing some of the horrible acting.

Laugh! submitted by jaegerla on July 29, 2011, 9:09am This movie is a cult classic. It is so bad it's good.

One thing to note is that Troll and Troll 2 are completely unrelated, which adds to how funny it is. Troll was a ridiculous movie all on it's own, but not funny. The creators of Troll 2 were a different group of people and the production company decided to release it as a sequel to Troll. Come on, it's funny. The sequel to Troll has no trolls in it and makes no mention of trolls. Laugh people! Laugh!

Interesting.... submitted by 0liviap0pp on August 13, 2011, 11:50am This is such a bad film that it's strange yet funny.

Troll is the best magic doppelganger movie ever made. In 1986. submitted by pkooger on August 20, 2012, 4:17pm Really incredible writing? Check.
Top of the line special effects? Double check.
Three dimensional characters that aren't in any way just broadly drawn caricatures of hackneyed stock characters? Super ultra mega check.

And that's just in the first movie on this disc!

Basically Troll is all about Atreyu figuring out that his sister, Girl-from-Poltergeist, has been body-swapped with a troll. Turns out it takes him a pretty long time. There's some hooie about how the upstairs witch was married to the troll when he was still human looking, and fairy universe blah blah and only you can stop him now blah take this magic decorative curtain rod blah blah blah. The real fun is watching the teensy little troll turn Sonny Bono and Elaine from Seinfeld into baby goblins and nymphs. At one point all of the baby creatures start singing for no reason at all, and it was so amazing that I almost cried for joy.

Watch this film. Or Troll will shiv you with his magic ring.

Odd movies submitted by popsiclefroyo1 on June 19, 2014, 2:57pm Troll and Troll 2 are horrible. But you can't help but keep watching them. They are hilarious for the wrong reasons.
