It was supposed to be a simple birthday weekend in Southern California. But when sunrise arrives two hours early in the form of a haunting light from an unknown source, a group of friends watches in terror as people across the city are drawn outside and swept into massive alien ships that have blotted out the L.A. skyline. From tankers to drones and hydra-like extraterrestrials, the aliens are inescapable and seemingly indestructible.

Awesome submitted by mysterio on July 12, 2011, 11:19am Awesome

Lame submitted by kjmclark on November 4, 2011, 9:50am The CGI is OK, but in all other ways this is a pretty bad "alien zombies" movie. Everybody croaks, the aliens want your brain, even nuclear weapons don't stop them. Come on.

The CGI is a lot like the second two Matrix movies. The flying alien ships are basically rip-offs of the flying octopi things from the Matrix. Just a lot more of that, but mostly from a long distance away, so they didn't have to spend a lot of money on rendering.

Be glad you didn't shell out real money to see it.

Unbearable submitted by Michael Flynn on December 8, 2011, 12:28pm Unbearable. I did not get past the first 10 minutes.
The pre-title sequence was obnoxious! Endless small-fry companies using the most extreme special effects to make their name in lights a memorable spectacle..... showboating credits of "produced by... " and " a so-and-so brothers production" ... and on and on !
The first scenes are glorifying Lamborgini drivers and up-and-coming rappers cruising L.A. in Bentley limosines.
Uugh! Yuck! Keep your big ego and your small movie I don't want it.

Awful submitted by dahyatt on July 13, 2014, 9:34pm As my son just said "The dregs of the movie world."
