With their house in foreclosure, sisters India and Mouse and brother Finn are sent to stay with an uncle in Colorado until their mother can join them, but when the plane lands, the children are welcomed by cheering crowds to a strange place where each of them has a perfect house and a clock that is ticking down the time.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Different submitted by rlmorgan on July 26, 2013, 7:35pm Probably best known for her historical fiction, and this book was a bit different than what I expected. There is a major twist at the end of the book; although, there are clues to it throughout the book. I'm not sure I really liked the book but it was interesting.

okay submitted by mjanen on June 20, 2015, 11:10pm But gets tedious. The plot twist on which the book is based is not a surprise nor especially interesting.

strange and confusing submitted by camelsamba on June 22, 2015, 4:30pm The description above gives the plot summary. To elaborate slightly: three children are sent to live with their uncle in Colorado, but end up in some strange city in their own fantastic houses for 1 fantastic day. At the end of the day, they are unceremoniously dumped out of the house, and somehow know they have to work together to escape before time runs out. Can they do it? And what does it all mean? I was able to foresee the resolution but I will say that it seemed to leave my 11yo son slightly baffled as to what was real and what was...a dream? a hallucination? the land between time? Altogether, strange and confusing.
