A Beautiful Mind submitted by SBNB on July 4, 2012, 3:37pm A Beautiful Mind is an interesting and entertaining movie about John Nash, an economics genius.

One of my favorite movies submitted by krayla on June 15, 2013, 8:25pm "A Beautiful Mind" is so under-appreciated; it is Russell Crowe's best work in my opinion. He does a fantastic job interpreting the life of John Nash: the audience can easily sympathize with Nash's growing paranoia and schizophrenia, as well as his frustration when he's misunderstood. One of my favorite aspects of the movie is the music by James Horner: it's haunting but beautiful and enchanting. I highly recommend checking out the movie soundtrack as well.

A Favorite submitted by DBJC on June 17, 2014, 10:48pm I've seen this movie multiple times and it is definitely worth all the times that I've seen it. Russell Crowe plays his part as John Nash EXCEEDINGLY WELL. But the one thing that I loved the most was how complicated yet beautiful Nash's mind is. Yes, I used the word "beautiful" because there isn't any other word that I could use to describe his mind. He's haunted by this illness but yet his mind explodes in numbers and twisted configurations that only his mind can understand. He cracks codes just by looking at them because his mind is constantly moving. The other part of this movie that I LOVED was the soundtrack by James Horner. It will ALWAYS be one of my favorites because of how Horner composed the music. Beautiful, yet calculating...and Charlotte Church's voice adds to the beauty. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. Yes, yes, yes.

A wonderful thinking submitted by Eli G-Linares on July 26, 2014, 11:37am The films introduces us to the professor John Nash smartest ideas, and how a genius needs to fight with his body mental and biological disseas. The story shows the so important roll that the family play to take care of the scientist healt.

Moving and fulfilling submitted by pej08 on August 5, 2015, 8:00am The movie follows the heartbreaking story of John Nash, a man sent to Princeton with a letter of recommendation that merely stated, "This man is a genius". At Princeton he sets himself apart by skipping classes in an effort to devote all his time to a truly original idea. He makes a breakthrough with his paper on what would later be called "The Nash Equilibrium", an economic concept now used in many areas of economics, business and even computer science. Along the way Nash starts to develop schizophrenic tendencies that bring harm to him and those that love him. It is truly heartbreaking to watch such a monumental genius be degraded in such a tragic way. Although the ending does soften some of the hurt you feel during the movie, this is not a feel good movie. However it is fulfilling and gratifying to watch the story of someone who had such a large impact in so many field. I wish that more movies depicted the lives of great men that profoundly impacted the world that we actually live in, and in such a moving way as this one.

A moving portrayal of mental illness submitted by FordAlpha on August 29, 2019, 11:26am With powerful performances and unexpected storytelling twists, this slightly fictionalized biopic of mathematician John Nash attempts to portray schizophrenia with compassion toward the sufferer and relatability for others. The device of portraying Nash's delusional thoughts as "real" on-screen characters and events is certainly attention-grabbing and gives those who haven't experienced such an illness a sense of how difficult it can be to distinguish delusional thoughts from reality. The film also convincingly makes the case that a disordered mind can also make a tremendous contribution to society and to the advancement of knowledge through intelligence, insight, and effort. The overall effect does exoticize the mentally ill--"look at the beautiful, fragile wild thing!"--but is also genuinely moving.

Inspiring submitted by mamtavj on August 20, 2020, 11:32am Wonderful movie. Wonderful performance by Russell Crowe

amazinb submitted by angie. on August 24, 2021, 9:16pm pretty cool! amazing :) Joli livre !
