The people of Lawndale just don't get Daria Morgendorffer. She's cool with that. See, Daria was born alienated, and now she's just trying to make it through high school with as little human contact as possible. Popularity, friends, activities, whatever. Daria lacks enthusiasm, but she makes up for it with sarcasm. Includes all five seasons, both home movies, interviews, and more.
DVD; NTSC, region 1; Dolby Digital; full screen.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

umm... submitted by lekendrick on May 25, 2011, 5:38pm fashion club presidency is in turmoil, back @ camp for a reunion highlights issues of growing up & out even the good people of our earth, of divorce rumored or to come, no particular given theme to these shows although Jane is highlighted well!

Season 5 submitted by Meginator on July 3, 2011, 9:45pm I think the best thing about Daria as she moves into her final season is that viewers finally get to see more of the vulnerability of Daria and Jane, whose alienation may not be all that it seems. There's a glimpse of this in the Season 2 Finale ("Write Where It Hurts"), but as the series heads toward its conclusion, and Daria to college, the writers really begin to explore what lies beneath and possibly beyond Daria's trademark alienation. There are times when the episodes get a little heavy handed, but just as Daria's humor tends to fly beneath the radar, much of the emotional exploration of these seasons is subtly done, if not particularly hidden. Standouts on this disc for me include "The Story of D" and "Lucky Strike." The latter, I think, does a particularly good job of fusing the almost madcap antics of Lawndale High with some serious (and welcome) character development for Quinn. Though the season may not quite be the best of the series, this disc is clearly reaching for a satisfactory conclusion.
