Great series submitted by Jessamynrm on July 9, 2014, 6:02am Arjouni's Kayankaya is a detective in Germany. While third generation in Germany, Kayankaya's family is Turkish and this provides the tension that makes these novels so absorbing, as a commentary on modern Germany and its relationship with its ethnic Turkish citizens. The other thing going for these books is that the writing is fast and funny, and the plots are twisty and fun enough to keep you paying attention. The novels are also pretty short, so they don't overstay their welcome on your nightstand.
