Epic submitted by brooksza on July 25, 2022, 3:42pm I was intrigued by this epic for the entire runtime. It's complex in story and ideas, well-crafted and conjures up memories of movies before and after this (we even get a reverse Irishman) -- while commenting on memory at the same time. I love the significance of the moment captured on the movie cover/poster now that I've seen this.

The scene in the back of the car is brutal and maybe unnecessary. The movie never grapples with the horrific implications.

I still enjoyed the journey, but I don't think the destination of the last half hour fully put it together.

Morricone score was highly emotional as usual.

Robert De Niro and James Woods never disappoint, and a young Jennifer Connelly. Highly recommended, but I wouldn't let my teen daughter watch it. It's a little rough.
