Is there Life on Mars?
submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on June 14, 2014, 1:50pm
Detective Sam Tyler continues to investigate crimes in 1973, although his real body is in a coma in a hospital in 2006 after he was hit by a car.
Sam has been desperately trying to figure out how to return to the 21st century.
"Doctor Who" fans will recognize John Simm as the actor who plays The Master masquerading as a politician named Saxon.
*Spoiler Alert*
Sam learns that his work with the Manchester Police has been part of an elaborate undercover operation named "MARS" and that his real name is not Sam Tyler. Believing that this, at last, could bring him back home to 2006, Sam sacrifices his friends and his love to follow the orders of his handler.
Like many British shows, his one ends after only two series (seasons).
