"Stories from the Dresden files" -- cover.
"Includes a never-before-published Dresden files story"--Jacket.
A restoration of faith -- Vignette -- Something borrowed -- It's my birthday, too -- Heorot -- Day off -- Backup -- The warrior -- Last call -- Love hurts -- Aftermath.
Here, together for the first time, are the shorter works of #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher -- a compendium of cases that Harry Dresden and his cadre of allies managed to close in record time. The tales range from the deadly serious to the absurdly hilarious. Also included is a new, never-before-published novella that takes place after the cliff-hanger ending of the new April 2010 hardcover, Changes.

A short-story view of a great series.

A collection of short stories occurring throughout the timeline of the Dresden files. Includes "Aftermath", picking up events immediately after the cliff-hanger ending of the novel "Changes".
Normally I'm not a big fan of short stories. As soon as you get comfortable with the setting, the characters, and the conflict, the story ends.
That said, Side Jobs is about as good as a bunch of short stories can get (assuming you're familiar with the series, that is). Since they're all set in more or less the same place with more or less the same cast, it's easy to pick up the story thread quickly.
A couple of the shorts here are told from the point of view of Harry's allies, and it's fun to see him through their eyes for a change.
