Mercy Lynch is just a frustrated nurse who wants to see her father before he dies. But she'll have to survive both Union intrigue and Confederate opposition if she wants to make it off the Union-operated, Tacoma-bound "Dreadnought" alive.
COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Like a Good Popcorn Flick submitted by MariaK on December 12, 2010, 2:56pm I ain't gonna lie to you -- I think "Boneshaker" was better, but "Dreadnought" is also exciting and fun to read. Unlike "Boneshaker," however, there is not much depth of character to be found in this book, which is a little disappointing. I didn't have much of a sense of who Mercy was as a person, even after reading through her many adventures. Hopefully, Cherie Priest's next book will remedy that problem. Overall, this is a great book to read on a long, lazy afternoon when you don't want to think too hard, and just want to enjoy a steampunk adventure.
