Ramadan is one of the most special months of the Islamic year, when Muslims pray, fast, and help those in need. Whitman's lyrical story, with luminous illustrations by Sue Williams, serves as an ideal introduction to Ramadan.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A great book for children to learn about Ramadan. submitted by gulickb on May 7, 2015, 9:12am Under the Ramadan Moon is a picture book that gives a brief explanation as to what happens on Ramadan. It is written in a very repeatable, and thus memorable, style "under the moon, under the moon, under the Ramadan moon". This enables readers to focus not so much on the text, which is informative in its own way but on the pictures instead. The art style is both simple and beautiful with soft shades of color and even softer edges the artist create a place that
is both comfortable and inviting. The art is beautiful and the style repeatable. The book includes a page at the end completely devoted to what Ramadan is and why people celebrate it.

This book is worth reading just for the artwork, but with the added benefit of learning about Ramadan it really is a must read!
