Great family road trip listen submitted by cherylo on June 15, 2012, 7:49pm Although you miss the drawing annotations by listening to the book instead of reading it, this was a wonderful family entertainment. Middle school is plenty hard, and sometimes a little sage advice can help life make a little more sense, even if delivered by an origami finger puppet with accompanying horribly fake accent. Tommy and his friends investigate whether weird Dwight's finger puppet is real or some kind of trick, but it may not really matter in the end.

Great series submitted by mjanen on August 12, 2014, 9:56pm Start of a great series. Help coping with middle school is always good, and this is funny and thoughtful. I like that the kids are inclined to superstitious belief but are still disbelieving, and that they learn to deal with slightly wacky Dwight.

Good submitted by peterflorence on June 14, 2015, 10:29am Good for listening to in the car.

Loved It submitted by cathydobbins on June 11, 2021, 5:34pm So easy to listen to as a family. Even my mom and baby sister enjoyed it. Great book, got me started on the whole series.

Kids loved it submitted by jibkidder on July 3, 2022, 11:40am Listened to it on a long car ride. The readers had a similar reading style to the Diary of a Wimpy Kids BOCD, though there are several readers, and the divided up story style is an easier listen. Both my 6 and 9 year olds really enjoyed it. I, myself, enjoy something with a British reader better, since I can tune that out entirely while we drive!
