COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Definitely NOT the best ever submitted by AprilCDB on June 19, 2015, 2:00pm This might be Richard Scarry’s best Christmas book ever, but it’s far from the best Christmas book ever. It’s a bunch of short stories in one book.

good submitted by .-.-.-. on June 25, 2021, 10:24pm Variety of Christmas stories. A classic that is overall very enjoyable. Very relaxing and comforting as well. 4/5 stars.

Busytown at Christmas submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 10:13pm This book includes several very brief stories set in Busytown during the Christmas season, and while they vary somewhat in overall quality they all possess the folksy charm that defines Richard Scarry’s work. The stories themselves are all fairly straightforward and even simplistic at times, but they come to life in the illustrations; the vivid character design and the many humorous background details make Busytown feel like a real, living community. And while Scarry’s stories always have a strong moral center to them, he adds a hint of mischief here and there for readers who are able to read between the lines; one story even had a plot twist that genuinely surprised me. Short and sweet, these Christmas tales are good to share with readers as they grow.
