Relatable Premise submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 10:21pm This charming picture book follows Splat the Cat as he participates in that age-old tradition of rushing to be as good as possible on Christmas Eve with the hope of earning a good present from Santa Claus. The story itself is fairly standard, with a few humorous twists in the way that Splat’s best-laid plans backfire. Rob Scotton is particularly talented at wrangling expressions out of his characters, which gives the story a bit of a lift despite its fairly predictable progression and makes it a solid example of an oft-told tale.
