Mr. Putney's Quacking Dog submitted by SBNB on June 17, 2018, 3:16pm This book was different, but in this case, that was a good thing. It’s a book of a bunch of different animal puns.
Silly puns submitted by FordAlpha on August 31, 2019, 11:09pm Jon Agee's droll wit is on display here with clever puns and absurd yet straight-faced drawings. This is basically a joke book; there's no plot. It didn't capture the attention of my younger kids, but the older ones got a kick out of the silly animals and their ridiculous names contrasted with the serious, buttoned-up Mr. Putney. Each animal is shown interacting with Mr. Putney on one page, which asks something like "Who is Mr. Putney's messy lunch companion?", and then formally introduced when you turn the page: "a slobster." As I read, I was able to guess a couple of the punning animal names before turning the page to find them.
