COMMUNITY REVIEWS

well done movie submitted by ablome on October 18, 2010, 4:09pm I enjoyed watching this movie - it told the story well and believable, the acting was very good i thought and it captured the time period - when you are old enough to remember - the movie made sense

good movie submitted by noor82 on November 23, 2010, 3:46pm it was nice movie actually ,am not in rock and roll kinda music ,but i wanted to see how kristen stewart acted in this movie and she did really good but it was kinda weird at some point hearing her cures and swearing like she did or her smoking etc ,but i guess we or i always think of her as Bella swan on from the twilight movies only (the good girl type )not like this ,and Dakota fanning was equally as good too ,overall the movie was good.

Run away submitted by markwells on January 14, 2011, 7:15pm Don't bother. Sorry but I didn't care about the characters and boredom began setting in halfway through. This movie did not live up to its potential.

Limited Audience submitted by CasualTim on January 17, 2011, 9:48am Unfortunately, I don't think this film will hold the interest of anyone other than those who are already fans of the subject matter. There are some really striking moments of physical acting (and kudos to Stewart and Fanning for those), but they are not sustained throughout the film in a way that'd make it worth watching for a non-fan.

Otherwise, it's a fairly typical tall-tale rockbio, with some portions making it perfectly clear that this is Sigismondi's first major directorial attempt and that Sigismondi is a mildly infatuated fan of her subject. There was a lot of nostalgia in this one for me, and I was impressed more often than I expected, but I think others will find this long, disjointed, and unexceptional.

Nooooo submitted by leenajong on August 16, 2015, 9:42pm I thought I was watching Twilight in the 80's. Unflattering version of Joan Jett.
