Maybe I didn't get it? submitted by klsyking on July 19, 2011, 11:43am I saw this book on lots of best seller lists, etc, and was really curious. I didn't really know what it was about when I started reading, but I'm not really sure I get it now. This book seems to be about disillusionment of youth, while older generations increasingly idealize them. I found it to be depressing and though realistic, the characters were not very endearing. I don't really recommend it, but lots of critics seem to disagree with me, so check it out for yourself :)

a worthy read submitted by ferdoble on August 8, 2011, 5:43pm So, this is not a great book. It has a very saggy middle. The beginning failed to capture my attention. The end made me wish the rest of the book wasn't there.

The format of the story is strange. It is narrated from the the diary of a man and what amounts to the social media commentary of his love interest. I did become invested in the characters to some degree, but mostly the reason that I continued to read was that I wanted to see what happened to the strange and terrible America that the author creates, which is very interesting.

The end of the book was the best part.

I wish I could tell you it was better because, just like its messed up characters, I kind of liked it. I don't know if that makes since, but that's how I feel about it. That's my review

weird, good book submitted by KOH on August 12, 2017, 7:46pm I thought this was really fascinating. The author created a pretty realistic future world with interesting characters. Worth reading.
