Fascinating submitted by kelleyc on August 3, 2017, 7:39am This book not only gave a lot of scientific details about the polar exploration, but as it was written by someone on (part of) the journey there were a lot of details in the book specifically about the men, or the animals they observed, etc. that added a layer of humanity and personal detail that you're not likely to find anywhere else. It's a very good, thorough, detailed, and moving book.
