Modern day 1984 submitted by KJRULEZ on July 25, 2016, 9:29pm If you were looking for a livelier, more recent version of 1984, you found it. I don't know if Shteyngart set out to write an updated version, but that's what he accomplished. Ultimately, the book is fascinating and, well, oddly realistic. It feels very much like this is the direction our world is heading in. But don't just read it for the vision, read it for the love story.
