Jonsi has spent more than a decade writing epic compositions with Sigur Ros, but his 2010 solo album stands apart from that experimental style, as he embraces a straight-ahead pop-rock sound.

hooray for angels! submitted by manz on August 22, 2010, 1:17pm Yes, I love this album. It is very upbeat. You can still sense the Sigur Ros-ness in the depth and beauty, but it has a lighter feel overall. Jonsi's voice sounds amazing, even if he is singing in ENGLISH! I kinda miss the Icelandic and Hopelandic.

He's on his 2nd leg of a world tour now (Fall 2010) and will be in the studio in 2011 recording his second solo album. I wonder what this means for the future of Sigur Ros.
