Easy read submitted by rimpopu on July 15, 2013, 9:19pm It is one of the books in Gossie series. In this book, when Gossie, Gertie, BooBoo and Peedie dye their eggs and hid them, Ollie wants easter eggs too. So he simply hides their eggs under his blanket, and surprises them later. Simple bright water color and ink illustrations along with big letters keep the interest of level 1 readers. Here, there are only 1-2 sentences per page, lots of repetitive words. It is easy read for preschoolers to kindergarten. There is not much of a story so it may not hold interest of a child if he is already into reading paragraphs and longer stories. My preschooler enjoyed it more than my first grader. My first grader didn't like that Ollie took other goslings eggs and hid it. She said, 'That is not nice'. This book can be a good discussion book on right and wrong, and to practice reading.
