A Fine Conclusion
submitted by Rin on June 18, 2011, 12:55pm
While reading the first few novels, Constantine's story was by far the one I was looking forward to the most. Frankly, the three sisters' stories were remarkably similar, seeing as they all followed the same general pattern (First Comes Marriage, Then Comes Seduction, At Last Comes Love- what do you know, that's exactly how the stories work out), and all kind of ran together. Stephen I can't say I particularly like- he seems too, I don't know, peppy, or something along those lines. And I like Cassandra even less than I like Stephen. (Not to say that I actually dislike the books- quite the contrary. I am merely trying to say I liked them quite a bit less than this book.)
Anyways, Constantine intrigued me right from the beginning. He was mysterious, rather tragic, and certainly had plenty of secrets. And interesting secrets they were! Certainly not anything near what I would have guessed from the earlier books. Anyways, I fear I begin to ramble, and this review has really become quite incoherent and beside the point, but what I am saying is that I believe this book to be the best of the series, and one of my favorite of Mary Balogh's books.
