Odd but beautiful submitted by pej08 on August 5, 2015, 8:07am The story follows a nameless warrior as he describes to the emperor of the Qin Dynasty (the one that would eventually unite all of China) how he defeated the three assassins that attempted to kill the emperor previously. Maybe it's because of the subtitles, but not all of the story made complete sense to me, I was left confused several times. However the cinematography was some of the most beautiful that I have every seen, it has been a long time since I've seen a movie so creative and artistic. Even if you can't understand the words, this movie is worth watching purely for the colorful and creative scenes depicted. I also enjoyed how the film played with the philosophical idea of peace at the cost of initial violence. Very enjoyable overall.

Hero submitted by lstorc on August 13, 2019, 6:38pm Hero is cinematically stunning, but lacks a solid plot.
