Great but sad submitted by nfrassrand on June 24, 2011, 8:27pm It is a great movie, but it gets really sad and depressing. It touched me though.

Human, lovely, heartfelt! submitted by pvogiatz on July 29, 2015, 8:38pm Story that will fill your heart with love and inspiration. Richard Gere and Hachi seem real Friends, alive and really talk about loyalty and true feelings. This film is truly a masterpiece!

SAD submitted by saleder on July 27, 2016, 9:33am Lasse Halstrom is the master of sad movies. This movie is beautifully filmed, with a soft, timeless feel. Costumes and sets are lovely. The main characters were a little flat, except for the character Ken. He was a little mysterious and had a spark that was intriguing. The soundtrack was somewhat monotonous and depressing, well-played piano in a minor key for the most part. The really sad part started with 30 minutes left in the film and those last 30 minutes were just a very sad slog. This is not a great movie if you're already feeling down.

Must see for animal lovers submitted by purchasingqueen on August 11, 2017, 10:44am Based on a real, heartwarming story. A dog's love never ends!

Hachi : a Dog's Tale submitted by Varshini on July 3, 2019, 7:43pm This story is simply beautiful. I'm not very emotional, but the first time I watched this I actually cried a bit. It's especially touching because it's based on a true story. This is one of my favorite movies, definitely would recommend. 5/5 stars

Hachi was a true friend! submitted by Mel Ruiz on August 11, 2021, 8:30pm This is very powerful and true story that showed us that love can go beyond our expectations. It is sad movie and I cried till the end, but the determination of a friend to wait for his soul masters is priceless - based in true story made it more special.
