When Columbus stepped ashore in 1492, millions of people were already living in America. It wasn't exactly a 'New World,' but an old one whose inhabitants had built a vast infrastructure of cities, orchards, canals, and causeways. But after Columbus set foot in the Americas, an endless wave of explorers, conquistadors, and settlers arrived, and with each of their ships came a Noah's Ark of plants, animals, and disease. Here is an exploration into the mysterious world of ancient American history.
DVD, widescreen.

America Before Columbus submitted by Samiran Muli on July 19, 2019, 1:05pm This Natgeo video is a great video about how it was like in america before the Europeans discovered it.
Inaccurate Title, Decent Documentary submitted by Meginator on June 11, 2021, 5:49pm The title here isn’t quite accurate: this documentary is as much about early contact between the indigenous people of North America and European colonizers, and the resulting Columbian Exchange, as it is about pre-colonialism indigenous ways of life. That said, the film does offer an engaging history of this period in North American history, avoiding most (but not all) of the stereotypical narrative traps that abound with this type of narrative. This wasn’t what I expected but I still found it interesting, and it filled a gap in my education that I never got in all of my years of school.
