Arc of the Drug Film submitted by Caser on December 14, 2010, 2:08pm At this point, most moviegoers are quite familiar with several overdone story arcs: the romantic comedy story, the mafia story, and the drug dealer story. The last two of these are essentially the same thing. The primary character starts from a low social and economic status. (S)he begins selling small amounts of drugs which gradually becomes large amounts of drugs. Character lives the high life before getting busted and going to jail. Finally, this person either redeems herself or dies. The two elements that can redeem a movie in the drug-dealer story are great casting and great script. Blow has much of the former, and some of the latter. Depp and Cruz are fantastic, as is Paul Reubens in his few scenes.

Overdose...in a good way? submitted by monipate on July 30, 2012, 9:01pm It's strange to say, but Depp and Cruz make this movie so good.
