You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need. submitted by cherylo on August 1, 2011, 8:25pm As someone who has studied yoga, but perhaps not seriously enough, for about 20 years, I really appreciated this documentary. Yoga is diverse and confusing for the beginner (and often the experienced yogi/yogini too!), so it was nice to see an attempt to sort through the many facets of this set of practices from the point of view of an absolute newcomer. If you're looking to seriously study and codify the different parts of yoga, this may not be the place to start, but it is a great supplement. Like yoga itself, I think what the viewer takes away from this video will depend on what that viewer brings to it. The extras, mostly extended interviews or studies of some of the participating teachers, were a wonderful addition.

Also, for the parents out there, there are a few unexpected and unbleeped f-bombs, just so you are aware.

amazing! submitted by fairytale on July 31, 2012, 4:34pm This is one of the best documentaries I've seen. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it!

Good intro to yoga but not definitive submitted by klickitat on August 21, 2012, 7:47pm I think this documentary would have been much stronger if the filmmaker hadn't inserted herself so forcefully into the process. Often when she's questioning her subject, Nick, she appears to trying to lead him to her own foregone conclusions, which seems counter intuitive to the documentary process. As Nick says at one point, maybe she should have just used herself as a subject.

I appreciate this yoga exploration submitted by yufamily on August 17, 2020, 7:44pm This guy was really committed to learning yoga and at the end, he was honest about his final conclusion. Authenticity is good.
