COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Probably their best submitted by jibkidder on July 1, 2022, 8:22am This was either their first or second record for Warner Brothers, and was totally slept on until a song became a, I guess you could say "viral" hit years after its release. The Flaming lips had a long, long career, starting out with a sound closest to Nirvana, maybe, although preceding them, which got bigger and more psychedelic over the years until the late 90s where they pivoted, discovered branding techniques (gimmicks) and developed a more modern take on soft rock or something. I think it's hard to consider this record without contextualizing it with their later (or earlier) work, but I'm pretty sure it is their strongest effort.
