Perhaps the greatest Hollywood musical submitted by FordAlpha on August 13, 2019, 10:08pm From "Rock Island" to "Minuet in G", this is the great old-style Hollywood movie musical at its greatest. The love story (like those of so many musicals, operas, and rom-coms) doesn't bear much scrutiny (Marian surrenders her love to a brazen con man so that her goodness can redeem him? Hmmmm), but that hardly matters. The cast is stellar, the music stupendous. For a band nerd like me, "The Music Man" is THE musical for all time.
