Originally released as a motion picture in 2009.
Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin.
In a world that has become overrun with zombies, two men must figure out how to survive. Wimpy Columbus is afraid of his own shadow, while Tallahassee is the biggest, baddest, gun-toting zombie-slayer who ever lived. When they meet two sisters, Wichita and Little Rock, the four strike out for an amusement park that is said to be zombie-free. This mismatched group will have to rely on each other to survive, which could be worse than surrendering to the zombies.
DVD, region 1, anamorphic widescreen (2.40:1) presentation; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

More Shaun, Less Super submitted by CasualTim on March 19, 2010, 12:31pm "Superbad meets Shaun of the Dead," claims the box cover. And while the comparisons may be valid, they also speak to an identity crisis in this film.

What Zombieland is is a fun zombie flick with fun people acting out a light-hearted story that contains very impressive statements about attachment. For those purposes, Zombieland is in every way acceptable entertainment. In fact, this film is quite special for its underlying ideas - from the way our heroes get their names to the transformation that takes place in Tallahassee's attachment story (and the attachment that has to take place to allow that transformation), Zombieland is well above the average in terms of depth. Even the way the cameo is so quickly forgotten by the characters after it's over says something about how our ideas of importance change drastically in drastic situations. The film is definitely worth watching for these reasons, though the casual viewer may find it difficult to concentrate on this stuff due to the extreme light-heartedness of the treatment.

The attempt to gain the Superbad audience - strangely, I think - displaced the zombieness of Zombieland (despite my confidence that a large majority of the Superbad audience appreciates zombies). The Zpocalypse is surprisingly threadbare in zombie count. I'd need to watch it again, but the sporadic and minimalist nature of the zombie encounters makes me suspect that they were there solely to move the plot along. This *can* be okay; I have no problem with setting being a direct result of the need for function. I have no problem with journey films where the meat happens in between instances of the problem rearing its ugly (undead) head. And I wonder if there would be time in under 90 minutes to say what was said in this film AND have more compelling zombieness. But the movie is called Zombieland, after all.

because it's good! submitted by lekendrick on September 11, 2010, 2:11am Eisenberg & Harrelson walk through setting so good it's only eighty eight minutes. There is a plot! So much so it bothers in relation the prettier pictures, & yes that factors death, or gore a horror picture.

Fantastic movie! submitted by monipate on July 30, 2012, 9:17pm So funny. Seriously, surprisingly funny. And the action is really good too. A really fun movie to watch. Jesse Eisenberg doesn't disappoint.

Humorous submitted by majean on August 16, 2018, 8:07pm This is an interesting take on the zombie story.
