powerful story submitted by fairytale on August 2, 2012, 4:42pm This book was more intense than I was expecting, but it was really hard to put down. It was a very powerful story.
Loneliness

"The Solitude of Prime Numbers" chronicles years in the lives of two lonely people who found some solace and comfort in each other, but never could really reach out to each other to find happiness in life.
Both characters wander through life, making themselves miserable and suffering at the hands of others. Giordano does a masterful job of describing their sadness and its effects. However, I found that I really didn't care too much. I found the behavior of both characters to be fairly uninteresting.
For those looking for a book on how mathematics, and specifically prime numbers, can be a vehicle for making personal connections, I highly recommend "The Housekeeper and the Professor" (owned by AADL) as an infinitely more inspiring tale.
I expected more! submitted by bookher on July 18, 2017, 3:54pm I really didn't like this book as much as I expected too. I think mainly it was because I really didn't like Alice and couldn't feel much empathy for her. I think it would have been a better story just focusing on Mattia. The ending was also very disapointing.
