Flint Lockwood is a young inventor who dreams of creating something that will improve everyone's life. Sam Sparks is a weathergirl covering the town's weather phenomenon, but chooses to hide her intelligence behind a perky exterior. Tim Lockwood is Flint's technophobic father. Brent is the town bully who has plagued Flint since childhood. Mayor Shelbourne exploits Flint's newest invention so he can put the town, and more importantly himself, on the map. By-the-rules town cop Earl Devereaux has a rule-breaking son, Cal. In a town where food drops from the sky like rain, Flint hopes to create something that will change everyone's life. However, when the weather takes a turn for the worse, the residents of the town of Chewandswallow will find their eating habits have drastically changed.

100% chance of hilarity submitted by CasualTim on March 15, 2010, 6:42pm This film is the best one I’ve seen this month. The level of every positive quality in a comedic animated film – including the bizarre – starts out perfectly adequate and increases continually throughout the entire 90 minutes. I’m generally concerned about films that resort to such a thorough amount of weirdness; they can quickly deteriorate into exercises in “look what I can think up!” that ignore plot and substance. Not so with Cloudy. It’s all there, it’s all necessary, it’s all fantastic.

This film is a picture-perfect definition of crescendo. If you aren’t laughing well before the Gummy Bears show up, I’d consider checking your heartbeat. With an all-star cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris (see if you can figure out which character he is before the credits), Anna Faris, Bruce Campbell, yes – Mr. T., and yes – Al Roker, there’s nothing not to like in this one.

One last thing – I did read the book today, and besides the premise of food weather, the location, and other minor details, the one has very little to do with the other. I think the film has much more lasting entertainment value. Lord and Miller deserve a specific nod for writing the imaginative, expansive screenplay from the thin children's work, and directing it to its full potential.

A great joy to it all! Morals abound! But, do not weigh the picture down it's very simply evenly balanced! Between set of pictures meant wash over eyes & heart warming family fare...

stunned submitted by ftan on July 16, 2012, 3:21pm when i saw this movie, i thought it would be too kiddish. however, i was stunned to find myself enjoying it. my favorite part was when the kids were sledding down the ice cream scoops. i think it would be awesome if food came from the sky for two reasons: yummy and free. however, it might hurt.

The kissing was sooooooo fake ( who puffs up their cheeks to kiss a true love?). It was too short to explain everything. And finally, it was nothing like the book.

So, all in all, this was the worst movie made possible on planet Earth. I still can't believe it made it into the theaters!

I liked all the little food jokes. It did get a little long towards the end there, but I think kids would love it.
