COMMUNITY REVIEWS

backstage Woodstock submitted by unknown on December 6, 2009, 6:53pm Ang Lee wants to keep his viewers off balance. The music, peace and love is not front and center of this film. The action mostly takes place at a run down motel. There are two Oscar level performances here. Imelda Staunton plays the heros mother. Her story develops as the film progresses. It explains her behavior. Staunton's acting is perfect. Liev Schreiber plays a man who is a Korean War vet and a cross-dresser. This big, tall guy wears high heels and carries a baseball bat. He is providing security. He has a short speech that I will alway remember. The film gets off to a slow start and the LSD trip is a little long for me. But I still give it a five. Because Ang Lee does not go for the easy, expected story.

it's better... submitted by lekendrick on January 7, 2012, 12:47pm many, ang lee, films have fallen flat not being such fan action genre, but he's ability retrieve footage the cross dressing is unfortunate as comic relief poor quality of in follow up other action turn it's gay or same sex themes do work in stencil story I'm oft puzzled as to how holly wood wishes present such, but safe said if genders mixed instead same sex such conduct be condoned? If not won't be very well received! Nudity group & exploits or allusion sex be had nearly any or every where same sixties tale past!

Not what I expected submitted by kathleen824 on August 19, 2012, 6:29pm While I found the movie entertaining it was not what I was expecting from watching the promos.
