In early 1790s' Paris, as the Revolution gains momentum, young and sheltered Eugenie de Boncoeur finds it difficult to tell friend from foe as she and the royalist brother she relies on become the focus of "le Fantome," the sinister spymaster with a long-held grudge against their family.

I love everything "French Revolution." Although not one of the best books about the French Revolution, I would still recommend it to fellow lovers of the time period/historical event!
Of course nothing beats "The Scarlet Pimpernel" for French Revolution fanatics :)
And for those of you who can't read the writing in red this is "The Pimpernelles," Book 1. Book 2 is called "The Traitor's Smile"
Okay submitted by zmclaugh on July 25, 2018, 2:36pm The main character spends a lot of the book doing nothing, which makes it a little boring to read. The author also expends a lot of effort to namedrop historical figures, which we don't really need.
