Okay submitted by jarroyo on June 22, 2014, 2:03pm This movie is okay. My kids weren't big fans of it. It held their attention, but it isn't a movie they want to watch again.

Cute submitted by leenajong on August 12, 2015, 8:25pm We enjoyed it.

I love the muppets submitted by crankycrack on August 20, 2015, 7:49pm But I do not love this movie

Amazing submitted by zmclaugh on August 10, 2018, 8:34pm One of the best movies ever. Great adaptation, funny lines, great songs.

Good submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 8:45am This is one of the few Brian Henson films that holds true to the Muppet characters as well as works with the storyline.

Sailing for Adventure on the Big Blue Wet Thing submitted by Meginator on August 24, 2020, 10:35pm This is one of the better Muppet book adaptations, taking the bones of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate yarn and adding a good dose of Muppet mayhem and (crucially) Tim Curry in a starring turn as Long John Silver. The songs are catchy and drive the action along (“Cabin Fever” kind of comes out of nowhere but is entertaining enough that the non sequitur doesn’t matter at all), the script balances sincere storytelling with an array of gags, and the performances straddle the line between subtlety and silliness. I really cannot emphasize enough how good Tim Curry is in this role: he goes from charming to menacing in the blink of an eye and he absolutely nails his big musical number. Like much of the Muppets’ best work, the film includes jokes that work on different levels, making it particularly excellent for re-watching if it’s been a while since you’ve last seen it. A few scenes are a bit frightening, particularly for a Muppet film (something Rizzo himself comments on in an early scene), and the film does include some disconcerting portrayals of indigenous island-dwellers (who appear to draw from Polynesian culture despite being distinctly located in the Caribbean), but overall this is one of the most successful feature-length Muppet productions.

So much fun! submitted by LittleWyatt on July 31, 2022, 1:50pm We all love this movie, the music is especially fun!
